Where it all started...

Coaching under the mission to educate players on and off the court by focusing on excelling in the classroom and in the sport of volleyball, NC Power Volleyball Club has grown exponentially from a couple of teams to over a dozen. Over the years and with the hard work done by our players and coaches, NC Power has several teams for each age group (age 12 to 18) for girls and was the first club in the Carolina Region to have a Boys 14 and under team in the 2013-2014 season.

We are a club for the players and about the players. This club was started by three girls who did not have an interest in playing in any other club. In November 2008, these three girls contacted Glenn Cashion to start a new JO program. They wanted to form a club based on the philosophy of having fun, playing hard, being safe and no drama. Cashion promised to coach the girls and create a budget as long as they held tryouts, made their own teams and found a place to practice. They talked to Ricky Proehl, owner of Proehlific Park, and after talking to Cashion and the girls, Proehl named Cashion the Director of Volleyball and asked Cashion to start a girls’ volleyball program. Originally called Proehlific Park Volleyball, the club started its first season with four teams and began an in-house league. Now, we are a club with teams ranging from 12U to 18U for both girls and boys.
